SUKMA

Image
Yesterday 25 of our soldiers were martyred in an ambush by the Maoists at Sukma, Chattisgarh. I hope that god will empower their families to face this dire situation and that the souls of the departed will soon find peace.  The loss at Sukma is a big one for our country and I doubt if we can cover up for it any time soon.  Maoists in our country have been quite effectively and efficiently dealt with. The November 8 demonetization almost brought an end to the decades of Maoism in our country, however, despite thorough cleansing, some bits still remain to be cleared and these bits are responsible for the deadly Sukma attack. Post attack, the social media was flooded with attacks on the Indian Home Minister for being unable to tackle the Maoists and with requests to the Prime Minister for lethal armed strikes on the Maoists bases to avenge the death of 25 of our army men. It was an evening of national mourning and grieve over the incident could be felt in the air. ...

THEIST AND ATHEIST – PART II

Image
The theist and an atheist meet again. This time they meet in a metro train. Atheist – Hello sir, are you the one who I met at Mr. Raheja’s party? Theist – Yes I am. Atheist – Nice to see you again. Theist – Hi, same here. Atheist – We had a nice discussion at the party. Theist – Oh yes we did, you looked satisfied by my arguments. Atheist – Your arguments were definitely smart but to say that I was satisfied would probably be wrong. Theist – And why would that be? Atheist – Because no matter how similar theism and atheism may sound to you, there are still many concepts and ideas in religion which are totally absurd and stupid. Theist – I am sure there are many such ideas but I believe that most of these ideas are simply wrongly interpreted by men. The problem lies in men and not in the ideas. Atheist – Are we by any means going back to where we left the last time? Theist – I wouldn’t mind going back to it. Atheist – (mockingly) I guess your god ...

STATE WITHIN A STATE ‘The invisible societal segregation’

Image
The taste of pudding is in eating’ similarly “discrimination is best understood when faced!” it was only when I was asked to leave a park that I understood how it felt being segregated and discriminated against and since a pen is always mightier than a sword I decided to write upon the same and highlight how these forces of segregation have effectively positioned themselves in our cities and that there is a need to regulate these forces in order to prevent a struggle between the classes. The force which I refer to here is the very famous RWA or the Residents Welfare Association spread throughout the Delhi NCR. Here is a case which illustrates how magnificently the RWA is promoting class differentiation. Noida Sector 44, Block A is home to some of the wealthiest people in Noida. The economic affluence of the residents is evident by the presence of innumerable palatial homes and luxurious cars in the stated block. The RWA manages this sector. Geographically, the residents pe...

REVOLUTION AND PROTEST

A revolution against a governing body shall only be considered complete and successful when the body is not only removed but is replaced by a more effective and a more efficient one. An incomplete revolution is probably a more dangerous state than the previous one. Thus when the people decide to revolt, they must ensure that their revolt is not just well organized but is also farsighted. Protests and revolts might have become a common occurring today. In India or more precisely in Delhi, the situation is so grim that even the governing elites are equally taking part in protests leave alone the non governing individuals. The requisites for both, a protest and a revolt are a)       Intent b)       planning a protest/revolt done with the intent to better the existing state of affairs in a particular territory or a particular state is patriotism but when the same is fueled with an intent to seize power for oneself,...
